Deals and Steals

I am happy to report that visiting this blog can get you more than a few good music picks and the occasional insight into the VC and web technology business.

Today marks the start of a new category of blog post – deal and steals. I’ll do my best to bring you bargains that aren’t just great value but also things that you should buy.

And to kick it off, I’ve got not one, but two great deals for you all.

1) Simulscribe – I posted about this back in March. Voice mail transcription is a lifechanger. I’ve been using it for six months and I don’t listen to my voicemails anymore. I read them!

I am pleased to offer all of you a 30 day free trial. Normally, you get 7 days free. It took me about a nanosecond to see the value of simulscribe. Hopefully 30 days will be enough to get you all sold.

2) Om Malik’s doing his first conference, called NewTeeVee Live. I am sure Om doesn’t need an introduction to all of you. He’s been blogging for as long as I’ve been at it, maybe even a bit longer. He calls it the way he sees it and usually gets it right. This show is about "reinventing television" and is in San Francisco next week. And my friend Quincy is doing one of the keynotes and our friend Lindsay is in a game show. Now that’s pretty cool.

I have found that the best conferences are the ones that are just getting started where you can just go up and talk to the speakers, where you don’t get lost in the crowd. Here’s a 15% discount on the $500 conference ticket.

You might be wondering what’s in it for me. Nothing from Om. Just a good deed from one blogger to another. In the case of Simulscribe, I’ll get 30 days free for every trial I generate that turns into a customer. Not that I need it, but I’ll take it.
