Don't Try To Predict The Future, Invent It
I am almost done with What The Dormouse Said.
It’s a good book and if you are interested in the intersection between computing and society, its an interesting study in that topic.
My favorite line from the book comes from Alan Kay, who was frustrated with Xerox’ strategic planners and their trend analysis and five year plans.
Kay, apparently at his wits end, blurted out, "look, the best way to predict the future is to invent it".
RIght on Alan.
