It’s Friday morning and time to do my Nuggets thing.
Just to remind everyone, every Friday I post about a record that I own and love that many people probably don’t know about, but should.
At the risk of copying too much from my first pick last week, this one is also going to be a solo record from a fantastic session musician guitarist who played with some of the greatest musicians in the 70s and 80s.
His name is David Lindley and the record is El-Rayo-X.
I don’t really know where to start with this record. It is so fantastic that whenever I put it on the turntable, I wonder why I don’t listen to it every day.
There are originals, there are covers, there’s rock, reggae, blues, ska, zydeco, and a boatload of other stuff to.
This is David Lindley’s best work and it should be in everyone’s collection.
And it’s also one of the best party records ever.
How’s that for a review?
Go buy the record.
