The last record we played on our turntable before we left our vinyl collection and returned to nyc last weekend was Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison.
Its a great record and I’ve owned it since I bought it used at Nuggets in Kenmore Square for $2.99 in 1980 (the price sticker is still on the record cover).
The title track is one of Van’s best and I can’t stop myself from singing along out of key like the commenter at amazon said his father always did. I hope my kids remeber this record similarly.
But there’s way more to this record than tupelo honey. In fact I think its van’s best after the stellar astral weeks and moondance.
If you need a little van the man today, put on Tupelo Honey and sit back and enjoy.
