Thinking Out Loud

John Battelle threw out a line in a long and thoughtful post about the game of musical chairs that is going on at the top of the online media business in the past month.

John said:

"That’s the focus of my next thinking out loud post"

So much of what I write on this blog is "thinking out loud".

Sitting around thinking silently isn’t nearly as effective for me as thinking out loud, putting my half baked ideas out there for you all to disect, digest, spit back, and turn into fully formed ideas.

In fact, I think blogging at its best is a huge collective exercise in thinking out loud.
