The National At Bowery Ballroom

I went to see The National at Bowery Ballroom last night. I bumped into Anthony Volodkin from The Hypemachine and some friends at the show which was cool. The National has been one of my favorite bands since I found them on the Hypemachine last year. This was the first time I’ve seen them live and they were terrific.

I particularly liked when they got crazy and frenetic and loud as this video of their song Mr November (from the Bowery show earlier this week) shows.

During Abel, the lead singer Matt walked into the crowd and sang with the crowd, kind of like Arcade Fire does. That was a great moment.
