Headed East
It's memorial day weekend and I'm headed out east with most of the family. We've had a house on the east end of long island for about a decade and we generally only use it from memorial day to labor day. But during the summer months, it's a great place to be.
This summer, we've got a new blog to keep everyone up to date on the happenings out east. It's called Curbed Hamptons and it launched yesterday. And there is also a twitter feed you can follow to keep up to date on the latest goings on out east.
Both come from the crack team at Curbed who also produce Curbed, Racked, Eater, and Gridskipper. In the spirit of full disclosure, The Gotham Gal is an investor and an advisor to Curbed and so we've got a vested interest in the success of all of these blogs. Check them out and let me know what you think.

Traffics always crazy heading back to Manhattan post memorial day weekend. Good luck beating it out there early :)My cousin Sean (tribecca film feat fanatic who’s working on writing for a startup) is heading out Saturday. Not sure weather will be with him.Have a wonderful break from the city.
If you haven’t already, you should checkout Lockhart’s appearance on TWiST with Jason Calacanis. I was surprised when he said he would consider selling Curbed for $5 mil. http://bit.ly/s0G2I
I think he would do that, particularly if the buyer put in a package for him and his team to make more post purchaseBut I don’t think that’s what is likely to happenI think they’ll stay independent and build it that way
How about a Curbed North Fork? 🙂
Gridskipper needs serious help. Not enough posts, not enough interesting posts, too many posts about big cities, not enough videos, etc, etc.
Lockhart was very close to selling out a few years ago to a well-known local media brand for $1-$2 million, but backed out at the last minute. Is he still intertwined with Denton?
Nope. He left denton a few years ago and is focused full time on curbed now
What’s the story behind curbed’s handicapped RSS feed?? I think I recall you being rather rigidly against this practise Mr. Wilson – it’s not your blog of course, but perhaps the mrs. could interject?
I don’t read via rss so I had no idea. I’ll discuss with them
