CryptoKitties
AVC readers may have noticed that I didn’t blog here yesterday.
That’s because I blogged on USV.com instead, about our most recent investment.
You can read that post here.

This is the key point from the blog post for the future direction and potential of this investment:We also think digital collectibles and all of the games they enable will be one of the first, if not the first, big consumer use cases for blockchain technologies.Congratulations also to @WilliamMougayar who was an angel investor in cryptokitties .
This is a solid development. This is one of the most clear signs of marketing taking over the job of value creation on top of a technology stack. The technology has been struggling to articulate a market that goes beyond speculation and a “store of value” hypothesis.[1]This is creating need by creating artificial supply constraints around a demand that does not exist 🙂 Love the power of marketing![1] Before I get my ears talked off. Yes I get the beauty of an elegant decentralized smart contract framework. But clearly that beauty is lost to the masses.
