Video Of The Week: My Talk At Yext Onward 2018

Last fall, the folks at Yext offered to let me have some stage time at their Onward Conference to talk about the K12 CS Education work that I’ve been doing for the last ten years.

I didn’t realize that the talk was online until I saw it today.

So here it is. It’s just under ten minutes.

You missed the memo on the jacket.Do you distinguish between computer science and software development? The MC clearly refers to programming – a discrete task, which I’d classify as software development. You specifically use the phrase computer science and it seems to be more applicable, and correct, if you want kids to have a base understanding of how people interact with the world. Sure, they may become programmers. They may also use their computer science knowledge as a business leader similarly to how a business leader would employ excellent writing skills to communicate the vision to the company.Comp Sci v Software Dev
