Ccol. I’ve always thought the height of coolness would be to be invited to a house party at George Strombolopolous’ house, he the late Sunday night dj at CBC. He always has the best bands.
He’d also be able to attract great bands, great people! Social is the future.. My proof point of this – aside from us naturally evolving to thrive socially – is I fucking love the conversations and networking I do during Lyft shared rides I take to get around.
:). Too bad the interesting and “evolving” people are stuck working in the sharing economy for pittances, eh?
Eh, I think at least some people will be wanting to do that as work for the socializing. Some rides definitely value wise are worth way more than the actual cost. Once we’ve moved into a foundational structure of abundance, and the abundance mindset shift occurs, then money really won’t mean as much to most people. Andrew Yang’s UBI of “$1,000” / month will exponentially grow in its buying power as automation takes over everything possible – so the quality of life we can provide everyone will be exponentially increasing. In reality, social capital will become the new norm – how awesome, social, helpful, evolved of a person are you – this will decide and warrant your network size, your following; in part along with how productive you are, and how good you are at crafting the world and the world’s image of you, how transparent and lovely you are. It will be as followings should be, not for shallow ego mechanisms or economics, survival – but for heart and compassion, love, how well you role model and inspire, how present and grounded you are, how you improve everyone and everyone’s life with your presence at every moment. Abundance is fast approaching. I made and pinned my prediction that Andrew Yang will win, and that global peace is fast approaching – as Elon Musk says, people are generally terrible at predicting exponentials.
There is abundance, but we will always have the human ego. Let’s not get carried away here.
Human ego is an important tool – the problem is when ego is constantly on. This is what the yoga and all of the other holistic health practices are fighting against – ego – and for heart opening. I perhaps have a better view on where we’re at and how quickly these practices will scale, and how rapidly we’ll start opening hearts and breaking down the ego of individuals – leading to the collapse of ego, greed-based systems. 🙂

Since forever is a long time, sometimes tough to say that something will NEVER happen. Flip side, it really MIGHT happen but so far in the future it’s irrelevant to anyone living now.For all this emphasis on social, FIRST we have to fix family formation and, in particular, be good as parents and QUIT going extinct. Yup: The birth rate is so low we’re going extinct, not just slowly over centuries but, in fact, RAPIDLY, NOW. E.g., there are plenty of villages where (i) the kids left town, (ii) the parents died, and the village is literally left abandoned.With automation, SOME things ARE getting really cheap, but not nearly everything.Why is the birth rate so low: Net, we are POOR, so poor WAY too many young couples in love do some arithmetic and conclude that they can’t afford to have kids.There are solutions, and we can be SURE Darwin will find one. Back hundreds of years, there was good music as soon as the technology permitted, i.e., with composers still world class.Soooo, there was Vivaldi who did terrific things with violins.Then there was Bach who did terrific things with violins, keyboards, orchestras, and choruses.And there has been more since.Alas, to my ears, 90% or so of music now, e.g., essentially all of current and recent pop music, is way, WAY short of Vivaldi and anything Bach discarded.
