Ricky Gervais on the technology business
These are the final words from the final show of the BBC version of The Office (I left out the last little bit about Dolly’s anatomy):
Life is just a series of peaks and troughs and you don’t know whether you are in a trough until you’re climbing out or on a peak until you are coming down.
That’s it, you never know what’s around the corner.
But it’s all good.
If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.
Do you know which philosopher said that? Dolly Parton.
Well said Ricky. That’s been my experience in the VC/tech business over the past 20 years. And it is all good.
As for The Office, I watched the entire two seasons plus the special on DVD over the past two weeks. The Office is one of the funniest things I have ever scene on TV and I loved every minute of it. I will miss David, Garreth, Tim, Dawn, and the rest of the gang.
